"Please come along on a 5-6 minutes ride of musical story telling and emotions in pitches!"
Guitar-infused instrumental music with orchestral passages and a suspenseful arc that tells a story.
The album title is a reply on Tommy Tedescos famous phrase (one of many) "there is no money above the 12th fret". Meaning that playing solos is not earning you any money. Since this is pretty true - like a lot of things Tommy said about the music industry, my life in the past 30 years was around soloing...at least I played more solos than rhythms and that made my life.
Being a clinician for brands like Randall, Washburn, Parker guitars, digitech, Steavens, Tom Anderson, Line6 playing the major trade shows all around the world ...I did mainly "live" above the 12th fret of my instrument, hence the title.
Dont get me wrong I am not saying Tommy was wrong - it is just an ironic reply on his statement.
On this album you find a lot of songs with orchestral passages. I will explore orchster arrangements more in the future. I am a big fan of both the music and the arrangements of John Powell, Hans Zimmer, Lalo Shiffrin, Howard Stone - to drop a few names.
I think instrumetal guitar rock paired with music arranged for an orchester is something that plucks a string inside of me - pun intended. I do not want to replace the role of a solo violin i.g. I rather want to be a section of the orchestra if that makes sense. I answer the melody played by the woodwinds or the brass section or be inside the music with a counter melody or a theme.
